BANJO ROMANTIKA introduces the personalities who play this unique breed of multicultural bluegrass music.  Inspired by American classical bluegrass sounds, a motley assortment of musicians from across the formerly communist Czech Republic have melded the past, the political and the present into a lively musical tradition entirely its own.  The documentary film grew from the dissertation work of Dr. Lee Bidgood, Assistant Professor in Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Studies at East Tennessee State University.
